We are very proud to announce that our opening ceremony will take place at the Domtower! This is the highlight of Utrecht (therefore it is also called Domcity). We invited three great speakers:
Otto Spijkers is Lecturer of Public International Law at Utrecht University, and researcher at the Utrecht Centre for Water, Oceans and Sustainability Law (UCWOSL). He is a member of the Committee on the Role of International Law in Sustainable Development of the International Law Association. He was a visiting lecturer at Xiamen University’s China International Water Law Programme, the China Institute for Boundary and Ocean Studies of Wuhan University, the Law School of the East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL) in Shanghai, the Università degli Studi di Salerno (Italy), and the UniversitéCatholique d’Afrique Centrale (Yaoundé, Cameroon). His doctoral dissertation, entitled The United Nations, the Evolution of Global Values and International Law, was published with Intersentia in 2011.
Dr. Cees Hamelink is professor emeritus of communication science at the University of Amsterdam and professor of human rights and global health at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam. He has worked in various capacities with the United Nations, lectured in over 40 countries, holds awards from scientific associations and universities and published 18 monographs about communication, culture, technology and human rights.
