Secretary General
Alina Chakh (Secretary General)
Hello everyone! My name is Alina Chakh, I am 21 years old and a fourth year law student at Utrecht University. My passion for debating came early. Already in high school I participated at competitions, even at a national level in the Netherlands. What I love about debating is getting passionate about a topic and make it your own. I believe that being able to express yourself is a very important quality. When I attended university, my passion did not end: I discovered Model United Nations. Participating in MUN conferences brought me so much: knowledge, the possibility to improve my English, and being able to make friends from all over the world. The main reason to attend a MUN? All the fun you will have! The vibe around MUN’s is just something different, it is such a motivating vibe and makes you want to do your best. It also allows you to discover the most fabulous places and cities, and Utrecht is deffinitely one of them. We as young people have the future in our hands, so don’t miss out the opportunity to make your voice count. I encourage everyone to discover themselves and their qualities and join URUMUN!

Michael Kolbrink (Treasurer)
Welcome Delegates! My name is Michael Kolbrink, I am 23 years old and a third year law student at Utrecht University. I’m also active at the VRB, a judicial association that helps individuals and financially weak companies for free. In the cases that come forward in our association it is repeatedly shown that it is very important to be great at debating. From this point of view I couldn’t refuse the opportunity to organize this international event for MUN delegates. I want assist people in stimulating the general debates, and enhance personal debating skills; I think that organizing this event is a great way to do that. I’m also very exited about the time we’re going to spend with the delegates from different countries and cultures. Spending time in Utrecht and learning about each other won’t only be fun but also educational. Let’s make sure that we are going to have an unforgettable time in Utrecht during the URUMUN!

Roos Bos (Internal affairs)
Hi delegates! My name is Roos Bos and I am a fourth year Law student at the university of Utrecht, I also study conflict studies in Amsterdam. I have always been very interested in different cultures, politics and conflicts that can arise from those differences. Participating in a MUN gives you the opportunity to come to grips with the core of a conflict, and by bringing your debating skills and knowledge into practice you get the unique chance to find solutions and write resolutions. The reason why I came to study in Utrecht and why you should join the URUMUN team is because Utrecht is one of the biggest student cities in the Netherlands and this means the city is wide-awake! Organizing this MUN is a great experience, our team is very committed and enthusiastic, and we can’t wait to meet the MUN’ers from all over the world.

Meike de Vree (Secretary)
Dear delegates, my name is Meike de Vree. I am 20 years old and a third year law student at Utrecht University. When I was 15 years old I started with debating in school and it has been one of my favorite things to do ever since. Not only did I learn about public speaking, but I learned about looking at problems from different perspectives as well. Last year I discovered Model United Nations and it offers me the perks of debating and much more. I love the atmosphere around Model United Nations, the debates, international relations and the socials. I am sure URUMUN will offer you those great aspects of a Model United Nations in one of the most beautiful cities in the Netherlands, Utrecht!
